With a glorious and prosperous year coming to a close and the new one about to begin, my mind is focused on giving back. There are so many interesting and worthwhile charities out there and Kir will be aligning with at least one for the year of 2010 to contribute a portion of sales and provide hands on community support. One thing I had not counted on is how difficult it would be to choose just one! Below are some highlights of a few of the contenders, any comments, feedback or insights would be hugely appreciated !
WitnessI love the idea, the concept and the format of Witness. Video is used as simple yet powerful tool to document human rights violations. It's not pretty but it's real and though it might be tough to do, opening our eyes to the realities really helps to point aid and assistance in the direction that it is needed most.
Case Foundationhe This is a great social charity. I love the innovative thinking and fresh approaches they are taking to improve our culture and daily living.
GreenpeaceGreenpeace casts a very wide net which is critical in light of the many issues that effect our environment and food supply.
ASPCAI love... LOve, LOVE our dog, he brings such joy to our lives and is truly part of the family. It pains me to think of so many animals out there in need of homes and medical care.
Well that is just a start, it would be great to hear some suggestions and of course we'll be researching for the next few weeks to find just the right one!
