My friend Amy is a natural social connector and party planner extraordinaire. So of course this years family Halloween party was full of surprises and fun. One of my favorite activities was the bobbing for apples tree.
The set up: simply cut plastic spoons to about 2 inches and stick into the apples. Tie one end of a string firmly around the spoon base and the other end in light bow on a branch of the tree. Have varied heights to accommodate players of all sizes and look for an attractively balanced distribution.
How to Play: Everyone must keep their hands behind their backs and use heir mouths to bite into and yank down the apples. The first one to get their apple out of the tree wins . I saw some of the wee ones switching apples so it might be a good idea to supervise the little guys but hey I guess it’s better than bobbing in a bucket of ice cold spit and apples right ;-).
